ARBL to set up 50 MW solar power plant worth Rs 2.20 billion in Andhra Pradesh

Amara Raja Batteries Limited (ARBL) is setting up a 50 MW solar power plant in Chittoor, Andhra Pradesh at an investment of Rs 2.20 billion to support its sustainability initiatives.

The setting up of the plant will further reduce cost of power and simultaneously bring down the ARBL’s carbon footprint. In addition, ARBL will set up a greenfield lead recycling unit with a capacity of 100,000 tonnes as part of the overall lead procurement strategy. The total capital outlay for this project is expected to be Rs 2.80 billion over the next 18 months.
