Power cuts in Andhra Pradesh dropped by nearly 35 per cent in 2020–21 compared to 2019–20.
A total of 250,000 power outages were reported during 2020–21, registering a decline of 36 per cent from 391,000 in 2019–20. To reduce interruptions in power supply, power utilities have focused on augmenting the power infrastructure in the state such as upgrading electricity substations, strengthening distribution networks and providing additional infrastructure for agricultural requirements during the day.
