Saudi Electricity Company (SEC) has awarded an engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract worth SAR198 million to local Al Sharif Group for the 380/132 kV Saad solar PV substation.
Post the completion of the substation, it will be connected to the proposed Saad solar power plant. The substation will be equipped with — 380 kV GIS; 132 kV GIS; 302/402/502 MVA, 380/110/13.8 kV power transformers; 13.8 kV switchgear; 2.5 MVA, 13.8 kV/400 V-230 V station service transformers; 13.8 kV grounding transformers; control/protection system; substation automation system (SAS); communication system; fire detection/alarm and safety and fire protection system; civil/structural works and mechanical works; and a high commission industrial security (HCIS) system. The duration of the contract is 26 months from the award of the contract.
