Bombay High Court suspends tender process for privatising discom in Dadra and Nagar Haveli, and Daman and Diu UT

The Bombay High Court has suspended the tender process for the privatisation of the power distribution company for the union territories (UT) of Dadra and Nagar Haveli, and Daman and Diu, in a public interest litigation case before the court.

Torrent Power had earlier in February 2021 emerged as he highest bidder in the tender for stake of 51 per cent in the UT. The discom of the union territory has annual revenue of about Rs 45 billion with sales of around 9,000 MUs annually.
