Siemens Asia Pacific Energy leaders identify key trends for a sustainable energy future

Siemens recently organised the Asia Pacific Energy Week with the theme “Shaping the Energy of Tomorrow”. The two-day virtual event, held on March 9-10, 2021, saw more than 2,500 participants that included regional and global business leaders, policymakers and government representatives from across the energy sector. Thought leaders at the event identified seven key trends for a successful transition towards a sustainable energy future: access to reliable, affordable and sustainable energy supply; ramping up the contribution of renewable energy; utilising technology for efficient and cleaner use of energy; embracing emerging and cleaner energy resources; digitalisation and AI-driven technologies; access to sustainable, competitive capital; and collaboration among stakeholders. The event was organised in collaboration with the German Chambers of Commerce Abroad; the Asia-Pacific Hydrogen Association; the Global Manufacturing and Industrialization Summit; Masdar, a global leader in renewable energy and sustainable urban development that is wholly owned by the Abu Dhabi government’s Mubadala Investment Company; and Siemens Gamesa.
