Saudi Arabia to lead global hydrogen market

Saudia Arabia is reportedly planning to begin working on a $5 billion power plant which is to be entirely powered solar and wind power in the megacity of Neom.

The plant will be among the world’s largest green hydrogen makers when it starts operating in 2025. Saudi Arabia is aiming to become the largest supplier of hydrogen in the world, which would be worth $700 billion by 2050 (as per estimates by BloombergNEF). The hydrogen plant will produce 15,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day at most
