Convergence Energy issues tenders for 10 million LED lamps under Gram UJALA Program

Convergence Energy Services Limited (CESL), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Energy Efficiency Services Limited (EESL), has invited bids from interested bidders for seeking private participation on a revenue-sharing basis for distributing 10 million LED lamps under its Gram Ujala program.

CESL will procure 7 million 12-watt LED lamps at a cost of Rs 75 per bulb and 3 million 7-watt lamps at a price of Rs 42 for a bulb. In addition, the company will guarantee payment of 50 per cent of the last discovered price, giving private companies assurance of a floor price. The interested bidder will have to quote a differential price per bulb i.e. the price the bidder wants to receive for their LED bulb over and above the floor price. The differential will be called the participation price. However, the bidder will need to quote a participation price for both types of bulbs separately. The lowest bidder will be determined based on the least participation price in each type of bulb. The last date to submit the bids is March 31, 2021, while a pre-bid meeting will be held on March 22, 2021.
