EAIF lends Euro 29 million for a 30 MWp solar PV plant in Burkina Faso, Africa

The Emerging Africa Infrastructure Fund (EAIF), a member of the Private Infrastructure Development Group (PIDG), has approved a loan of Euro 29 million for the construction of the 30 MWp Pâ solar PV plant.

Independent power producer (IPP) Urbasolar, which is a subsidiary of the Swiss Axpo Group, is developing the project. The EAIF is the only financial partner of the project. The total investment requirement of the project is Euro 35.4 million and the remaining funds will be provided by the developer. The funds are expected to be released by EAIF in the second quarter of 2021.
