GS Energy and VinaCapital to build LNG-to-power complex at Long An provincein Vietnam

A joint venture (JV) of South Korea-based GS Energy, and Vietnamese asset manager VinaCapitalhas received an investment certificate for the construction of an LNG-to-power complex in Long An province in Southern Vietnam.

The project will comprise a 1,500 MW gas turbine each at Long An I and II, and entails a total costs of around $ 3 billion. GS Energy will be responsible for building and operating the plant. The construction of the project is estimated to be completed by December 2025. Power generated from the plant will be sold to Vietnam Electric Power Corporation under a 25-year power purchase agreement.
