Tokyo Gas Company to install 19 offshore wind turbines in Japan from 2024

Tokyo Gas Company has announced plans to install 19 offshore wind turbines in Japan, from 2024 as the government moves toward achieving carbon neutrality by 2050.

The wind turbines will be located in waters near the coast of Ibaraki Prefecture and generate a maximum of 159.6 MW, enough renewable energy to supply 70,000 households annually. The project would be funded by Wind Power Group Co, based in Ibaraki Prefecture, and Vena Energy Holdings Ltd, a renewable energy company in Singapore.
