SEACEF announces investment in Vietnam-based 500 MWp floating solar power plant

Singapore based Southeast Asia Clean Energy Facility (SEACEF) has announced its investment in development of a 500 MWp floating solar and storage project in Dong Nai Province, Vietnam.

The project is under development by Blueleaf Energy. It has a target capacity of500 MWp with battery energy storage system (BESS) of up to 200MWh capacity. The provision of energy storage will allow the project to accommodate increased renewable energy capacity while also reducing stress on its power grid system. It is expected to avoid an average of about 372 kilo tonnes(kt) carbon dioxide emissions per year over a 25-year lifetime and a maximum of 412 kt carbon dioxide if the battery uses solar generation to displace peaking diesel generation.
