CERC approves registration of Pranurja as a power exchange in India

The Central Electricity Regulatory Commission (CERC) has approved the registration of Pranurja Solution Limited (PSL) as the third power exchange in India after the Indian Energy Exchange Limited (IEX) and the Power Exchange India Limited (PXIL).

PSL was incorporated in 2018 as a consortium of PTC India, BSE Investments, and ICICI Bank. It has filed a petition for a grant of registration to operate a power exchange under Regulation 16 of the CERC (Power Market) Regulations 2010. PSL has a net worth of Rs 500 million, thus fulfilling the commission’s net worth requirement of Rs 250 million, to be granted the permission.
