Fluence commissions first systems of 470-MW storage portfolio in Philippines

Fluence, a Siemens and AES company, has commissioned the first batteries out of a 470-MW/470-MWh energy storage portfolio in the Philippines.

Fluence has completed the commissioning of two 20-MW/20-MWh battery-based energy storage systems in Kabankalan, Negros Occidental province and in Malita, Davao Occidental province. Fluence has been contracted to supply and maintain the portfolio by Philippine power company SMC Global Power Holdings Corporation (SMCGPH). The portfolio, consisting of 13 sites, will provide grid stability services across the country, preparing the power network for higher levels of renewables.
