GEPIL receives orders worth Rs 1.25 billion to help power sector lower emissions from coal power plants

GE Power India Limited (GEPIL) has received three orders worth Rs 1.25 billion from STEAG Energy Services (for Vedanta), Tata Power and JSW Steel to meet NOx emission norms and upgrading mill components for a steel plant.

The order from Tata Power entails installation of combustion modification system for their existing Indian make boilers along with advanced firing system equipment to reduce NOx emission to below 450 mg/Nm3 for their Jojobera plant at Jharkhand. Meanwhile,the order from STEAG is for complete replacement of economizer zone tube bank for 2 units of 600 MW Chinese make boilers for the end customer in Vedanta’s Jharsuguda power plant in Odisha and the scope of work for JSW Steel includes enhancing the capacity of existing Indian make coal mills in Bellary plant in Karnataka with the latest GE mill technology.
