NTPC Vidyut Vyapar Nigam Limited has invited online bids on a two-stage bidding basis for the EPC package of a waste-to-energy (WTE) facility at Ramna, Varanasi. The bid commenced on June 22, 2021 and concluded on July 27, 2021. The plant, with a waste segregation facility of 600 TPD fresh municipal solid waste, will be designed in a modular fashion for assembly, testing, maintenance and replacement of individual subassemblies. It will be odourless and compliant with applicable emission norms. To prevent the discharge of harmful substances, it will have an effluent and leachate treatment system. There will be a fair amount of automation in the plant’s O&M. The facility is expected to be commissioned by September 30, 2022.
