Tata Power and Azure Power secure 500 MW from MSEDCL’s wind-solar hybrid auction

Tata Power and Azure Power have been declared winners in the Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited’s (MSEDCL) auction to procure power from 500 MW grid-connected interstate and intrastate wind-solar hybrid power projects on a long-term basis.

Tata Power has secured capacity of 300 MW and Azure Power, 200 MW. Both the companies had quoted Rs 2.62 per kWh. MSEDCL will signa power purchase agreement (PPA) with the two companies to purchase wind-solar hybrid power for 25 years from the commercial operation date of the projects.The minimum size of a single intrastate hybrid power project should be 25 MW and that of an interstate hybrid power project should be 50 MW.
