Exim Bank extends $35.25 million loan for KPTL project in Senegal

The Export Import (Exim) Bank of India has extended a loan of $35.26 million for a power transmission project being executed by Kalpataru Power Transmission Limited (KPTL) in Senegal.

The project entails construction of a 92 km long 225 kV overhead transmission line from Tanaff to Ziguinchor in Senegal along with bay extensions in Tanaff and Ziguinchor. The project aims to enable secure and reliable power supply as well as reduce operating expenses and cost per kWh in the southern region of Senegal comprising Tambacounda, Tanaff and Ziguinchor. Under this loan, the buyer’s credit facility was extended under the National Export Insurance Account scheme which provides a safe mode of financing option to Indian project exporters.
