NTPC Renewable Energyand UT of Ladakh sign MoU to set up India’s first green hydrogen mobility project

NTPC Renewable Energy (NTPC REL) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the union territory (UT) of Ladakh to set up the country’s first green hydrogen mobility project in the region.

The MoU is a step towards enabling Ladakh to develop a carbon free economy based on renewable energy sources and green hydrogen. Initially, NTPC has planned to deploy five hydrogen buses in the region. The signing of the MoU also marked the inauguration of NTPC’s first solar installations in Leh in form of solar trees and a solar car port. The company will be setting up a solar plant and a green hydrogen generation unit in Leh, making itwthe first city in India to implement a green hydrogen-based mobility project.
