Delhi government is set to begin a single window facility for installation of charging points for electric vehicles in private and semi-public spaces in the city.
This would enable residents of Delhi to request for installation of a charger in their premises either through the online portal of discom or by making a call to place a request. In this regard, BSES Rajdhani Power Limited (BRPL) floated a request for selection for empanelment of private charging infrastructure providers with three Delhi discoms namely BRPL, BSES Yamuna Power Limited and Tata Power Delhi Distribution Limited. The upgraded scheme for installation of charging facilities will involve private and semi-public spaces as well as cooperative group housing societies, high rises, residents welfare associations etc. Delhi government’s electric vehicles scheme was launched in 2020 which aims to reduce fuel-based vehicles by up to 25 per cent by 2024.
