Sunseap and BP Batam sign MoU to build floating solar farm and ESS in Indonesi

Sunseap Group and Badan PengusahaanBatam (BP Batam) have signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to build a floating solar photovoltaic system and energy storage system (ESS) in Indonesia.

Sunseap will be developing the solar farm and ESS on Duriangkang Reservoir in the south of Batam Island. The project is expected to be the largest floating photovoltaic system spanning across 1,600 hectares. The solar farm will have a capacity of 2.2 GWp and the ESS will have a storage capacity of over 4,000 MWhr. The project cost is estimated to be $2 billion.Sunseap expects the solar farm to generate over 2,600 GWh of electricity per year, offsetting over 1.8 million metric tonnes of carbon emissions per annum.
