Bahrain’s Electricity and Water Authority (EWA) has inaugurated a 66 kV transmission station in Muharraq to meet the growing power needs of the city
The new substation will serve the needs of the Muharraq Governate and help the region gkeep pace with the developments in the region. International companies like General Electric, Hyundai, and Saudi Electric Company (SEC) were involved in the project, while local players Mohammed Jalal Company and Comed Company undertook the civil work. Irish company Electricity Supply Board of Ireland (ESBI) provided advisory services. Currently, there are a total of 46 transmission substations in Bahrain at 66 kV, 220 kV and 400 kV voltage levels.
