BSES to tie-up for 3.3 GW green power by 2023-34

BSES will sign power purchase agreements (PPAs) with projects tendered by Solar Energy Corporation of India Limited (SECI) to procure3.3 GW of green power by 2023-24.

OF this, about 2.3 GW will be from solar, wind and waste to energy whereas 1 GW would be from hydro. The projects with which PPAs will be signed belong to Adani Green Energy, Amp Energy and Avikaran Surya. It is expected that renewable energy will form 50 per cent of the power supply portfolio of BSES within two years. It will replace thermal PPAs that the discom will exit due to high cost and completion of PPA tenure. BSES has recentlysigned a PPA for 510 MW of solar and bundles hybrid power of which 300 MW is solar power and 210 is hybrid power.
