The total volume of electricity traded at the Indian Energy Exchange (IEX) stood at 7,322 million units (MUs) in July 2021, recording a 37 per cent year-on-year (YoY) increase
The real-time electricity also saw a significant 103 per cent YoY increase with the monthly volumes of 1,596 MU and the highest-ever single day volume since inception at 81.6 MU on July 10, 2021. The green term-ahead market traded the highest-ever volume of 726 MU in July 2021 registering a 76 per cent month-on-month increase. The green term-ahead market also registered the highest-ever single day volume of 153.1 MU on July 16, 2021. The cross-border electricity trade under day-ahead market saw 72 MU of traded volumes and registered 68.4 per cent month on month increase. The day-ahead market traded 4238 MU volume during July 2021 at the average monthly price at Rs 2.95 per unit.
