SJVN Limited has entered into a contract agreement for electro mechanical works worth Rs 4.20 billion of 210 MW Luhri Hydro Electric Project (HEP) Stage-1 with Voith Hydro Private Limited.
Luhri HEP-1 is a run-of-river project with diurnal storage and a dam-toe surface power house in Himachal Pradesh’s Shimla and Kullu districts. The project has a total capacity of 210 MW, with four Kaplan turbines, each with two main units of 80 MW and two auxiliary units of 25 MW each. The project costs Rs 18.10 billion and has the capacity to generate 758 MUs of electricity per year. SJVN is marching to achieve an installed capacity of 5,000 MW by 2023, 12,000 MW by 2030 and 25,000 MW by year 2040.
