33.24 GW PHSP projects to be set up in three districts of Andhra Pradesh

The Andhra Pradesh energy department has planned to install 33.24 GW capacity of pumped hydro storage power (PHSP) projects across Andhra Pradesh.

The projects will be set up across 145,000 acres in Kadapa, Kurnool and Anantapur districts of Andhra Pradesh. It is expected to improve the power supply position in the state and also help promote industrialisation. Additionally, Andhra Pradesh has initiated a go-electric campaign to promote electric vehicles (EVs) in the state. The non-conventional energy development corporation of Andhra Pradesh (NREDCAP) has set up 109 charging stations in this regard and plans to set up another 400 chargers across the state and along the national highways.
