Bharat Heavy Electricals (BHEL) has set up a solar-powered electric vehicle (EV) charging station at Karnal, Haryana.
The EV charging station is located at the midpoint of Delhi-Chandigarh highway and is equipped to cater to all types of electric cars. The Delhi-Chandigarh highway has become the first EV-friendly highway in the country, with a network of solar-based EV charging stations set up under the Faster Adoption and Manufacturing of (Hybrid) & Electric Vehicles in India scheme. The EV stations are equipped with individual grid-connected rooftop solar plants that will supply green and clean energy to the charging stations.
