The project management consultancy (PMC) contract has been awarded to NTPC for setting up 900 MW solar projects in Cuba, 100 MW solar projects in Malawi and 50 MW solar projects in Niger. NTPC is also looking for similar opportunities in other ISA member countries in Africa like Congo, Sudan, Mozambique, Uganda, Egypt, Rwanda, Tanzania, Gambia, Senegal and Zimbabwe targeting setting up of 10 GW capacity. The Cuba and Niger assignments were received in June 2021 and the Malawi assignment was received in March 2021.
