Wärtsilä Energy to supply power to Adamjee EPZ in Adamjee

Wärtsilä Energy will supply a 40 MW liquified natural gas (LNG) based power plant located in Adamjee Export Processing Zone (EPZ) near Dhaka, Bangladesh.

The power plant has been ordered by Sigma Powertech Limited and it will operate with four Wärtsilä 34SG engines operating on natural gas fuel. It will provide efficient and reliable electricity supply to the EPZ, to encourage industrial investments in the zone. The delivery of the engines for the power plant is being made on a fast-track basis with all equipment scheduled to be delivered before the end of 2021. Commissioning of the plant is expected by June 2022.
