Kansai EPCO and RWE sign offshore wind pact in Japan

Japan based Kansai Electric Power (Kansai EPCO) and RWE Renewables (RWE) have signed an agreement for joint feasibility study of a large-scale floating offshore wind project.

The project will be developed off the coast of Japan. It is expected that countries with deeper coastal waters, such as Japan have great potential for floating wind farms. This project could help realise the untapped potential of the Japanese coast. The two companies have leveraged their complementary strengths to support Japan in its target to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050.
