MSEDCL issues tender to procure 800 MW capacity of power

The Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company (MSEDCL) has floated a tender to procure 800 MW of power from wind-based generation projects.

As per the tender, 500 MW wind power would be procured from intrastate wind-based projects and 300 MW from grid-connected new inter-state and intrastate wind-based projects.MSEDCL floated the tenders intending to fulfill its non-solar renewable purchase obligation (RPOs). The ceiling tariff has been set at Rs 2.65 per kWh.The last date for submission of bids is September 13, 2021. Intrastate projects that are already supplying power to MSEDCL under an existing energy purchase agreement (EPA), which has expired or will expire on or before March 31, 2022, are eligible to participate in the bidding process.
