GoI issues ESCerts to best performing industrial units

The Ministry of Power (MoP) organised an event to issue energy saving certificates (ESCerts) to the best performing industrial units as part of the “Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav” celebrations marking 75 years of India’s Independence. The MoP issued over 0.57 million ESCerts to 349 industrial units that had saved more energy than the targets set under the Bureau of Energy Efficiency’s Perform, Achieve and Trade scheme. These units would be able to trade the certificates through the power exchange portal after a month to the units that could not achieve their targets. These initiatives are expected to go a long way in making India more energy efficient, forming a replicable model for the rest of the world.
