Tata Power and Adani Power may sell electricity from Mundra projects on power exchanges

The Ministry of Power (MoP) is preparing to issue a statutory order to allow two power plants run by Tata Power and Adani Power to sell electricity on the power exchanges to ease the coal and power supply situation.

These two plants have a capacity of 4,000 MW each and are located at Mundra in Gujarat. These two power plants run by Tata Power and Adani Power use imported coal, but they are not operating now due to absence of compensation for high fuel cost. The government will be holding a meeting with officials to discuss utilisation of the two imported coal projects..
