L&T to sell 1,400 MW Nabha TPP

Larsen and Toubro Limited (L&T) has planned to sell its non-core assets including the 1,400 MW Nabha thermal power project (TPP) in Punjab.

The proposed sale is in line with a growing focus on environment and sustainability.The Nabha TPP is a 2×700 MW supercritical coal-basedpower plant at Rajpura in Punjab. It supplies power to the state of Punjab at one of the cheapest variable costs of Rs 2.93 per and is located 1,500 kms from the mine source. The other non-core assets to be sold include the Hyderabad Metro, and L&T Infrastructure Development Projects Limited (L&T IDPL) which has road projects and power transmission lines.
