KPTCL to build substations for continuous power supply to the agricultural sector

To enable continuous seven-hour power supply to agricultural pumps, Karnataka Power Transmission Corporation Limited (KPTCL) plans tobuild over 60 substations in 100 days.

The state government will also set up a transformer bank to change the defective transformers to replace the damaged transformers in 24 hours. The government has also drawn a 100 days programme to provide electricity to households in the rural areas where there is no access to electricity under the Belaku project. There is also a plan to open electric vehicle (EV) recharge centres to be opened across Karnataka at the district centres and tourist centres as more and more EVs are coming up.
