The project will be operated by Mitsubishi’s retail subsidiary, Mitsubishi Corporation Retail Energy. The project will be made up of numerous ground-mounted solar installations which are currently in development across more than 450 sites throughout the Greater Tokyo and Tohoku areas of Japan. All installations are expected to become operational in 2022 and 2023. The entire project is expected to generate 23 GWh of renewable energy (RE) annually. This is the first aggregated solar project of this scale to be backed by a corporate PPA in Japan.
