The SCEP has been launched in accordance with US-India Climate and Clean Energy Agenda 2030 Partnership announced at the Leaders’ Summit help in April 2021. It organises inter-governmental engagement across five pillars of cooperation which are power and energy efficiency, responsible oil and gas, renewable energy, sustainable growth and emerging fuels. In a meeting held between the governments of US and India to plan the launch of SCEP, progress and major accomplishments were reviewed and new areas for cooperation were prioritised. Progress of the India-US Civil Nuclear Energy Cooperation was also reviewed.
