AMP Energy commissions solar power plant at Pondicherry University

AMP Energy India has commissioned its 2.4 MW solar power plant at Pondicherry University.

The project has been developed under Solar Energy Corporation of India’s 97.5MW rooftop scheme. Under this scheme, Pondicherry University and Amp Energy India have inked a 25-year power purchase agreement for solar power procurement. The facility will provide enough solar energy to fulfil around 40 per cent of the university’s energy requirements. So far, Amp Energy has developed several rooftop projects, including for L&T Metro Rail Hyderabad Ltd (7.8 MW), Tata Hitachi Construction Machinery (10.5 MW) and the largest solar rooftop for an industrial customer for Skoda Auto Volkswagen India (18.5 MW).
