Andhra Pradesh cabinet accepts central government’s solar power offer

The Andhra Pradesh cabinet has accepted the central government’s offer to supply solar power to the state.

The Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) has offered to supply 9,000 MW solar power to the state which will help the agriculture sector get quality and uninterrupted power. SECI would be able to give 3,000 MW power by 2024 and 9,000 MW by 2026. With, the state would not need to establish solar power plants. The cabinet has accepted the proposal and decided to supply power to farmers at Rs 2.49 per unit.
