Around 19 firms including Reliance Industries Limited (RIL), Adani Group and Tata Group have evinced interest for setting up solar manufacturing units under the production linked incentive (PLI) scheme of the government.
RIL, Adani Group, First Solar, and Jindal Poly Films have applied under the scheme for manufacturing polysilicon (stage-I), wafer (stage-II) and cells and modules (stage-III & IV). In addition, L&T, Coal India Limited, ReNew Power and Cubic PV have bid for stage II, III and IV. Meanwhile, Acme, Avaada, Megha Engineering, Vikram Solar, Tata Power, Waaree Energies, Premier Energies, Emmvee Group and Jupiter Solar have evinced interest for stage III and IV (cell, modules). Further, the PLI will be disbursed for 5 years post commissioning of solar PV manufacturing plants, on sales of high efficiency solar PV modules.
