SJVN wins 1,000 MW solar projects from worth Rs 55 billion

SJVN Limited has bagged 1,000 MW capacity of grid-connected solar photovoltaic (PV) projects worth Rs 55 billion under arequest for proposal (RfP) floated by Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency Limited (IREDA).

The company has won the project through open competitive bidding process at the maximum tariff of Rs 2.45 per unit. SJVN has bagged the full quoted capacity of 1,000 MW at a viability gap funding support of Rs 4.472 million per MW by the Government of India. The project is expected to generate 2,365 MUs during the first year and have a cumulative energy generation of 55,062 MUsover a period of 25 years. The power generated from these projects shall be only for self-use or use by government and government entities, either directly or through discoms.
