Turkey invites bids for solar power projects

Turkey has floated a tender inviting bidsfor the fifth auction round of its Yenilenebilir Enerji Kaynak Alanları (YEKA) programme to award solar power projects aggregating to 1.5 GW capacity.

Under the tender, the Turkish Ministry of Energy and Natural Resourcesplans to select 76 large-scale solar power projects of capacities in the range of 10-30 MW to be implemented across 23 regions.The ceiling tariff has been fixed atabout $0.045 per kWh for the tender.The bids must be submitted on January 12, 2022. Turkey has targeted a total solar energy capacity of 15 GW by 2027 and plans to have 2 GW of wind energy by 2023.
