EV charging stations to be set up on Leh-Manali route

Shuchi Anant Virya (SAV), the joint venture company between Lithium Urban Technologies and Fourth Partner Energy has announced the installation of a network of electric vehicle (EV) charging points along the Manali-Leh route in the Ladakh region.

PowerBank, flagship brand of SAV would set up the EV charging stations which would enable EV connectivity along the route, including 5 of the highest motorable passes in the world. 18 charging stations were set up along the 1,800km route in 10 days. 15 of them were installed at locations with a height of 10,000 feet – 14000 feet above mean sea level. The route covers Manali, Leh, Kargil, Nubra, Turtuk, Pangong and Siachen Base Camp as well as Khardung La, Chang La and Taglang La passes. The chargers installed were a mix of Type-I and Type- II AC chargers catering to electric two, three and four wheelers.
