Andhra Pradesh Eastern Power Distribution Company Limited (APEPDCL) has launched the real-time data acquisition system (RT-DAS) under the Integrated Power Development Scheme (IPDS) of the government as part of the Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsava. The project, which was sanctioned in December 2018, was completed in September 2021 at a cost of Rs 48 million. RT-DAS has been implemented in 116 substations of 33/11 kV capacity and 437 feeders of 11 kV capacity that will cater to 36 IPDS towns. The required hardware/ equipment feeder permitted terminal unit panels, multifunction transducers, etc. were installed for all the 11 kV feeders. By implementing the RT-DAS project in APEPDCL, real-time data on voltage, current, power, planned and unplanned interruptions from 11 kV town feeders, will be available for measurement of the system average interruption duration index and system average interruption frequency index in all 33/11 kV substations of 36 Restructured Accelerated Power Development and Reforms Programme and IPDS non-supervisory control and data acquisition towns (that is, excluding Visakhapatnam).
