It is a joint initiative of the Ministry of Power and the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE)to provide a road map for the installation of the energy storage system in the country. The EoI will be published along with the request for selection (RfS) bid document. SECI has received interest from several buyers to utilise energy storage systems on an on-demand basis, suited to their requirements during the peak and off-peak hours. Accordingly, SECI will invite proposals for setting up an inter-state transmission system (ISTS)-connected standalone BESS for an aggregate storage capacity of 1 GWh. A pre-bid conference will take place on October 28, 2021 and as per the suggestions and feedback of stakeholders, SECI will float the final RfS in the first week of November 2021.
