NTDC nears completion of 500 kV Karot HPP transmission line

Pakistan’s state-owned transmission utility, National Transmission and Despatch Company (NTDC), has completed 90 per cent construction works on the 500 kV Karothydro power plant (HPP) transmission line.

The double-circuit transmission line will be connecting the 750 MW Karot HPP with the grid.Once completed, the 3-km-long line will connect the HPP to the national grid through in/out arrangements from the existing 500 kV Neelum–Jhelum line. The remaining work for the line will be completed upon receiving approval from the Karot HPP authorities, as it has to be done inside their premises. On completion, electricity will be evacuated via the NTDC system and delivered to load centres in the Punjab province.
