Number of TPPs with less than 4-day coal stock stands at 58

The number of non-pit head thermal power plants (TPPs) with less than four days of coal has fallen to 58, as of October 18, 2021.

There has been an improvement in the coal stock situation as the same number was 69 on October 11, 2021. The number of TPPs with zero days of coal has come down to 13,as of October 18, 2021,as compared to 15, a week back. There has been an improvement in the power shortage situation as it has come down to 2,060 MW on October 18, 2021 from 6,857 MW a week back.The coal stock situation is expected to further improve in coming days with government’s efforts to scale up supplies.
