Chinese CSG to invest CNY670 billion between 2021 and 2025

Chinese grid developer, China Southern Power Grid (CSG), plans to invest CNY670 (where CNY1 = $0.16) billion between 2021 and 2025 to improve its power system.

The utility has recently formulated its 14th five-year network development plan, which focuses on improving the overall architecture of the grid to support upcoming clean energy. The plan covers its generation, transmission and enhancement goals over the cited period. The utility plans to spend CNY320 billion on upgrading the distribution network and the remaining amount on development of renewable generation, transmission and energy storage infrastructure. In regard to its transmission development plans, it aims to develop more power transmission network from west to east, improve power transmission from north to south, and integrate and link Guangdong, Macao, and Hong Kong.
