Belgrove Power to develop PHP3.8 billion gas turbine plant in the Philippines

Belgrove Power Corporation (BPC) has announced plans to develop a PHP3.8 billion gas turbine power plant in Rizal, Philippines.

The 60 MW power facility, which is scheduled to start construction in June 2022, will include two generating units, each having a capacity of 30 MW, and will be used to offer grid ancillary services. The gas plant project will be used to meet energy shortage in the Philippines’ national grid as well as maintain the system’s power quality, dependability, and stability. The gas plant will be constructed within the grounds of Fort Pilar’s non-operational Malaya Thermal Power Plant (MTTP).Work on the plant is scheduled to be completed in December 2022.  BPC is also preparing an environmental management plan to address the projects’ potential ecological impact
