China’s largest grid developer, State Grid Corporation of China (SGCC), has recently completed the CNY435 million, 1,000 kV Jinzhong substation expansion project.
The substation is located on the west side of Xishanhu Village, Hongshan Town in Pingyao County, and the expansion entailed the installation of three 1,000 MVA transformers. Also, the substation is part of the West-to-East power transmission channel adjustment projects being undertaken in Shanxi Province. The West-to-East projects include, seven 500 kV power transmission and transformation projects, as well as two ultra-high-voltage main transformer expansion projects, along with constructing 825 km of new transmission lines and a total of 3,000 MVA transformation capacity.
