SJVN Limited has virtually inaugurated the works of the second unit of the 1,320 MW (2X660) Buxar thermal power plant in Bihar.
The plant involves an investment of around Rs 110 billion. On commissioning, the plant will generate 9,828 MUs of electricity. The first unit of the plant is expected to commissioned by June 2023 and the second unit by January 2024. The project consists of two units and over 50 per cent of works at the first unit have already been completed. The coal-based project is based on ultra-supercritical technology and is being developed by SJVN Thermal Private Limited, a fully-owned subsidiary of SJVN.
